This policy explains what Orvelle collects, why it is needed, who helps process it, and the choices available to you.
Scope and commitment
This Privacy Policy explains how Orvelle Editions collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit the site, create a personalized book, place an order, review a proof, contact support, or otherwise use the service.
Orvelle handles personal information to create and deliver the edition you request. Customer stories, photographs, and other submitted materials are not sold or used for unrelated marketing or general-purpose AI training.
Information collected
Order and contact information may include your name, email address, telephone number, shipping address, order details, language, book preferences, and communications with Orvelle.
Customer materials may include photographs, stories, names, dates, locations, physical descriptions, family details, dedications, and other information you choose to include in a book or proof request.
Technical information may include IP address, browser and device details, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location, interactions with the site, and cookie or similar identifiers.
How information is used
Orvelle uses information to create, write, illustrate, revise, proof, print, ship, and support personalized editions; process transactions; send service messages; prevent fraud and misuse; maintain and improve the site; understand site performance; and meet legal obligations.
Service messages about payment, drafts, proofs, revisions, production, delivery, and support are necessary to fulfill an order. Marketing messages, where offered, are separate and may be declined without affecting an order.
Stories, photographs, and book content
Submitted materials are used only as reasonably necessary to create, revise, print, deliver, and support your order, or for another purpose you specifically authorize.
Please submit personal information about another person only when you have permission or another lawful basis to do so. You may request deletion of submitted materials, subject to production status and any information Orvelle must retain for legal or operational reasons.
Payments
Payments are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout. Orvelle does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
Orvelle receives transaction information needed to confirm and support an order, such as payment status, transaction identifiers, amount, currency, and relevant billing or shipping details.
Data retention
Orvelle retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including completing production, providing proofs and support, handling reprints or disputes, maintaining transaction and tax records, protecting the service, and meeting legal obligations.
Retention periods vary by information type and order status. When information is no longer needed, Orvelle takes reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
International processing
Orvelle serves customers in multiple countries. Personal information may be processed in the United States or another country where Orvelle or its service providers operate.
Where required, Orvelle relies on appropriate legal safeguards for international transfers. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and to object to certain processing or appeal a decision. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
Submit a request through the contact page and provide enough information for Orvelle to verify and respond to it. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Orvelle will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Children's information
The service is intended for adults making or purchasing personalized books and is not directed to children under 13. A parent, guardian, or other authorized adult may submit information about a child for a book and is responsible for having authority to do so.
If you believe a child provided personal information directly without appropriate authorization, contact Orvelle so the request can be reviewed.
Security
Orvelle uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Changes and contact
Orvelle may update this policy as the service, vendors, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
Questions, privacy requests, and concerns may be sent through the contact page. Orvelle may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
